Based in Christchurch, New Zealand, Resource Recycling Technologies (NZ) Limited ("RRT") is the largest privately owned metal recycling plant in the South Island. Covering almost 5 acres RRT is conveniently located to Port Lyttelton and has been constructed to ensure that the scrap metal is stored and processed in a manner which complies in all respects with the Resource Management Act 1993. RRT trades in most types of surplus metals. These materials emanate mainly from industry in Canterbury and the wider South Island area. RRT employs over 45 staff and has made a multi milliondollar investment in its plant, vehicles and machinery. Where possible it has utilised the best technology available to the metal recycling industry. RRT has contracts with large corporations such as Telecom, Tranzrail and several power utilities and local bodies. It is also pleased to be the preferred contractor of the Recovered Materials Foundation (RMF) kerbside recycling program, which is the Christchurch City Council recycling initiative.
